We set a date for October and decided to get started on the details of a wedding. This was 1988 so there was no social media or technology go work with. We drove around to various places and started looking for flowers, decorations, food, clothes, and all the goodies but on a limited budget. Viv’s parents weren’t rich and we couldn’t see spending money we didn’t have. I was making $3.35 an hour and Viv was making a little over $5 an hour. We found a cake at the old bakery in Yellville for $35, artificial flowers for $100, Viv’s dress $200 and we used the church where we worshipped. Best deal of all is my dad married us. It was simple and we didn’t need all the expenses to prove we had found love. See picture
